Werd geschreven in opdracht van Norbert Nozy en de Koninklijke Harmonie van Thorn.
Deze compositie voor saxofoon solo en symfonisch blaasorkest neemt zowel muzikanten als luisteraars mee op een ontdekkingstocht naar het verborgene achter de muziek en de saxofoon als instrument. Doorheen vijf in elkaar vloeiende bewegingen, waarvan de solocadens het middendeel vormt, hullen verschillende thema's en motieven zich in een raadselachtige sfeer en ontsluiert de saxofoon een nieuwe klankwereld.
Het werk is opgebouwd rond twee koraalachtige melodieën die voortdurend terugkeren in verschillende gedaantes. Ook de naam van de opdrachtgever duikt steevast op doorheen het werk. Via de techniek van de muzikale cryptografie werden de letters NOZY omgezet in een muzikaal motief (sol-la-mi-re) dat steeds vaker verschijnt naarmate het werk evolueert. Op dezelfde manier wordt ook de code ontcijferd achter de naam van de uitvinder van de saxofoon: belangrijke bouwstenen in de compositie zijn de motieven SAX (mi-la-do), alsook de harmonische verbinding A-S (la-mi(b)), verwijzend naar de Alt-Saxofoon als solo-instrument en bekendste uit de familie der saxofoons.
