ASSAI Cello Quartet in residence in ISB
During the coming weeks the ASSAI Cello Quartet will be performing and working with the cello students of the International School of Brussels as part of the Visiting Artists and Scholars Program. The Quartet residency will begin on Friday 25th of October with concerts during the Strings classes.
The goal of this partnership is for the Quartet to work with all cellists in a longitudinal manner; as well, all students will hear them perform several times which gives them a close-up model of chamber music. In November the quartet will work with all cello students on the finer points of cello ensemble playing. This will engage the students in a way that spurs them to rehearse, contemplate, listen and revise their playing between each visit. As a culmination, the ASSAI Cello Quartet will play on the Strings Concert on December 4th and the students will perform the cello ensemble pieces they had done with the quartet.
The Visiting Artists and Scholars Program has been managing visits since its inception in 2003, welcoming approximately 20-25 visitors per year. More information about the program here!
