More information and tickets can be found\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ccpoorthuis.be\/voorstelling\/1734\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With this program the ASSAI Cello Quartet approaches different dimensions of the repertoire of\u00a0<span class=\"especialO1\">Johann Sebastian Bach<\/span>. Since the &#8220;cello quartet&#8221; setting did not exist as such at the time of Bach, a few representative works have been transcribed for four cellos. Bach himself made daily use of arranging music: he played Vivaldi&#8217;s string quartets on organ and changed the instrumentation of his pieces depending on the instruments available. He also made transcriptions of his own works for other instruments.
